Senior Data Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team full-time in Romania.

About the role:

As a Senior Data Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. You will be working for a Data Platform that sets the standard for scalability and data-driven decision-making with a custom infrastructure built from the ground up to guide strategic initiatives. It transforms diverse data sources into optimal pipeline architectures that make Product and Risk decisions run faster, work more efficiently through AI and ML integration, and provide actionable insights for global growth.

Responsibilities:

• Full ownership and responsibility for data stack
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Select the tools and system architecture required to enable stakeholders to efficiently and optimally utilize data
• Implement AI and ML modules supporting our application
• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional Data Engineer experience, preferably from Fintech companies
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Strong proficiency with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ELT/ETL pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Experience working with Cloud DB such as Snowflake/Redshift
• Experience working with ETL tools such as - Fivetran/Rivery/Airbyte
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong analytical skills
• An ambitious team player with a strong ability to work both in a team and independently
• Excellent communication abilities in English
