Salary Range: US market data minimum $140,000.00 - $175,000.00 maximum wage range.  You will receive a competitive total rewards package that is applicable to the U.S. only. The salary range may vary based on experience, skillset, and geographical location.

AttainX, Inc. is in search of a highly energetic and experienced Sr. Data Engineer to provide expert leadership and guidance to our federal government client. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related field. 
  • Must have at least one active/current certification in AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, or Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Data Engineer, or equivalent credentials.
  • Must have at least 10+ years (senior level) in real-time and batch analytics, predictive modeling, complex data transformations, and data quality assurance.
  • Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing with all levels of management, with a diverse workforce, and with customers.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing ISO and CMMI quality processes and procedures.
  • Flexible and highly motivated with an excellent ability to establish relationships with and influence complex networks of others.
  • Solid experience and knowledge of version and project management software ( i.e. Team Foundation Server, SVN, etc.)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
  • Preferably federal experience and have GSA background and client experience. 

Skills: Agile delivery, compliance with IT Security, FISMA, and Section 508, development of data catalogs/metadata, and engineering support for cross-functional projects. 

 

Duties:

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence. This role ensures the reliability, performance, security, and compliance of all data systems and processes across the organization. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
  • Perform complex data transformations, aggregations, and integrations from multiple sources (structured and unstructured).
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver production-grade data platforms and services.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data marts, and data warehouses to support analytics use cases.
  • Implement data quality assurance checks, validation processes, and anomaly detection mechanisms.
  • Ensure data pipelines and storage systems are secure, compliant with IT Security Policies, FISMA, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Manage data cataloging and metadata management efforts to enhance data discoverability and documentation.
  • Provide engineering support for cross-functional projects, including predictive modeling and real-time analytics applications.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives) and regularly deliver working data engineering solutions in sprints.
  • Develop data mapping strategies to support automation and workflow integration efforts.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines and infrastructure performance issues.
