This role is part of a long term engagement with a global technology client, supporting a finance focused data platform used by Accounting, Finance, Payments, and Tax stakeholders.

Role Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate data pipelines and finance data products that power critical financial systems. You will work closely with finance and engineering stakeholders to improve data quality, reliability, and scalability across the data platform.

This role requires strong hands on data engineering expertise, ownership mindset, and the ability to operate in a complex, enterprise scale environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and operate ETL and ELT pipelines delivering finance data products for Accounting, Finance, Payments, and Tax teams.
Build and maintain data models, transformations, and tests using DBT.
Develop and operate AWS based data jobs using AWS Glue and AWS Lambda.
Orchestrate data workflows and schedules using Apache Airflow.
Ensure high standards of data quality, validation, observability, and platform reliability.
Collaborate directly with finance stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver production ready data solutions.
Optimize SQL queries and manage performance of analytical and relational datasets.
Contribute to the continuous evolution of the finance data platform, improving scalability, maintainability, and engineering standards.

Required Qualifications
Senior level experience building and operating data platforms and pipelines, ideally 5+ years.
Strong Python expertise focused on data processing, ETL patterns, and performance optimization.
Hands on experience with AWS Glue and AWS Lambda for data ingestion and processing.
Strong experience using DBT for transformations, testing, and data modeling.
Advanced SQL skills and experience working with analytical and relational databases.
Experience designing and operating ETL pipelines and modern data platform patterns.
Hands on experience with Apache Airflow for orchestration and workflow management.
Proven experience implementing data quality checks, testing strategies, and monitoring.
Ability to collaborate effectively with non technical stakeholders in finance, accounting, payments, or tax domains.

Nice to Have
Experience with Terraform or infrastructure as code for data platforms.
Previous exposure to finance, accounting, payments, or tax related data platforms.

Work Modality
Remote role with APAC timezone coverage. Candidates must be based in APAC or able to work APAC business hours, with flexibility for occasional collaboration with global teams.
