The Role:
We’re seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer who operates at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, AI innovation, and governance. You will build scalable, trusted data pipelines and models, act as a key enabler between data analysts and engineers, and drive the adoption of AI technologies within our data ecosystem.
In this strategic role, you’ll:
- Deliver governed, AI-ready datasets.
- Integrate AI/ML solutions into analytics workflows.
- Serve as a mediator between business-facing analysts and backend engineers.
- Spearhead data quality, governance, and innovation initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Modelling
- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and models using modern data stack tools (dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Develop and manage semantic layers, curated datasets, and data marts that empower analytics and reporting.
- Translate business analysis needs into technical requirements for pipeline and model development.
AI Integration & Innovation
- Prototype and integrate AI/ML models, including LLMs (e.g. GPT), into data pipelines and reporting solutions for process automation and advanced insights.
- Identify, evaluate, and experiment with AI technologies relevant to data management, quality monitoring, and self-service analytics.
- Drive AI-enabled data solutions like predictive dashboards, NLP summarisation, or automated anomaly detection.
Data Governance & Quality
- Lead the data governance function within the analytics domain:
- Define and enforce data standards, lineage tracking, and access controls.
- Manage data cataloging, metadata documentation, and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g. GDPR, PDPA).
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness across the data estate.
Cross-Team Mediation & Enablement
- Serve as the link between Data Analysts and Data Engineers:
- Translate analytical needs into engineering solutions.
- Communicate technical constraints and best practices to business users.
- Ensure analysts can easily access, understand, and utilize governed datasets.
- Provide training and documentation to empower self-service analytics.
Who We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years experience in analytics/data engineering or BI development.
- Expertise in SQL, dbt, cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Proficiency in Python for data workflows and light AI/ML integrations.
- Hands-on exposure to AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Windsurf etc.) and practical AI solution deployment.
- Solid foundation in data governance, metadata management, and data quality standards.
- Strong communicator who values transparency and open exchange of ideas.
- A positive, collaborative mindset with a can-do
attitude views challenges as opportunities to innovate.
- Comfortable engaging both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for learning, experimentation, and pushing boundaries.
