You Will Be Responsible For

  • Plan, script, and execute PostgreSQL RDS upgrades from version 13 to 16

  • Coordinate upgrade activities with the Cloud Engineering team, ensuring smooth service switchovers

  • Monitor upgraded databases, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with AWS Support during rollout

  • Design and implement data archiving strategies across PostgreSQL databases

  • Develop and run archiving scripts to optimize storage usage

  • Provision new RDS instances with smaller disk footprints and ensure proper configuration

  • Redirect traffic between database replicas to support operational changes and minimize downtime

  • Collaborate closely with Cloud Engineering to align rollout and execution of database-related tasks

The duration of the project is 1-2 months

You Are a Good Match If You Have

  • 4+ years of proven experience working with PostgreSQL

  • Deep knowledge of AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, covering replication, failover, monitoring, and provisioning

  • Strong skills in SQL scripting, query optimization, and performance tuning for high-availability systems

  • Experience in designing and executing efficient data archiving strategies within PostgreSQL environments

  • Ability to perform database dependency analysis and coordinate schema and configuration changes with Cloud/DevOps teams

  • Solid understanding of database reliability, scalability, and security best practices
