PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This role serves as the critical link between data engineering and the FP&A team, ensuring the business fully leverages Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and ERP systems to deliver automated, accurate and scalable reporting.
The position is responsible for building, optimising, and maintaining data pipelines, notebooks, SQL queries, Python scripts and Power BI models that feed financial, commercial, and operational reporting across the business.
This role ensures the FP&A team has access to secure, accurate, and validated data for budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting, and operational analytics, while maintaining compliance with governance standards.
The analyst will work closely with commercial teams, farm managers, and operations to ensure consistent data flows and reporting alignment across the organisation.
A key part of the role will be to assist the FP&A team in training and empowering commercial and farming teams to understand and utilise reporting outputs, dashboards and insights.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data & Reporting Systems Development:
Develop and maintain SQL queries, Python scripts and ETL/ELT pipelines to support data flows into Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and FP&A datasets.
Build and manage Microsoft Fabric artefacts including Data Factory pipelines, Lakehouse tables and Warehouse structures.
Integrate data from Business Central (BC365), TM1, operational farm systems, labour platforms and commercial data sources.
Ensure accuracy, governance and consistency of financial, operational and commercial data.
Power BI & Reporting:
Design, maintain and optimise Power BI models, datasets and dashboards.
Apply best-practice data modelling, DAX calculations, relationship management and performance optimisation.
Work with FP&A and commercial teams to ensure reports reflect business requirements.
Support development of reports for month-end, forecasting, margin analysis, labour efficiency, and operational
Systems & Process Improvement:
Partner with IT and the Systems Accountant to enhance system integrations, master data, and reporting structures.
Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification across reporting and data processes.
Maintain documentation of pipelines, models, dataflows and reporting logic.
Projects:
Train commercial teams, farm managers and operational stakeholders on how to use and interpret dashboards and data outputs.
Create easy-to-understand guides, walkthroughs and documentation for report users.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders to improve data literacy and adoption of reporting tools.
Act as a key liaison between IT, FP&A and operational teams to ensure alignment on data needs.
Support finance/IT-driven projects including Microsoft Fabric initiatives, reporting automation, and data transformation programs.
Assist with business-driven projects including capital analysis, operational reporting enhancements and software implementations.
Participate in requirements gathering, testing and deployment of new systems or reporting tools.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI or similar modern data platforms.
Relevant qualifications in Finance, Data Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
Strong SQL skills and experience writing efficient, production-ready queries.
Experience with Python for data transformation, automation or reporting.
Experience integrating data from ERP systems (BC365 strongly preferred).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large data sets.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and support non-technical users.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
