Position Summary:

The Analytics Engineer at MYMC is responsible for developing and maintaining a robust, scalable data infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility to support advanced analytics, automation, and AI initiatives across the organisation.

This role collaborates with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to transform raw data into reliable, reusable assets that inform decision-making and enhance business processes.

Key Responsibilities but not limited too:

Data foundations and modelling

  • Build and maintain clean, well-modelled datasets that support analytics, automation, and AI use cases.
  • Own core transformation logic across customer, order, subscription, marketing, and operational data.
  • Design data models that prioritise consistency, reusability, and long-term maintainability over one-off outputs.

Data quality, reliability & trust

  • Implement automated data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Identify root causes of data issues and fix them at the source.
  • Establish and uphold standards for testing, documentation, naming, and version control.

Enablement & Self Service

  • Create datasets and semantic layers that allow teams to self-serve confidently without constant data team involvement.
  • Reduce reliance on bespoke queries and manual data extracts.
  • Partner with stakeholders to interpret results and drive action.

Advanced analytics and automation:

  • Design and deliver analytical models where needed.
  • Translate business problems into analytical approaches, not just queries.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring analysis or decision logic.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Strong SQL skills, with experience building analytical data models.
  • Experience with ELT/ETL pipelines and modern data stacks.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Azure preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data quality, testing, and maintainability.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make pragmatic trade-offs.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort partnering with non-technical teams.

Desirable:

  • Python experience for transformations, automation, or data quality tooling.
  • Experience supporting analytics for ecommerce, subscriptions, or marketing.
  • Exposure to dbt-style modelling patterns.
  • Experience preparing data for ML or advanced analytics use cases.
  • Familiarity with Power BI (but not defined by it).
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 data.
