Given that our data infrastructure directly fuels our Machine Learning initiatives, your understanding and experience in preparing data for ML models will be invaluable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines for real-time ingestion from diverse PIMS.
  • Implement robust solutions for data change tracking, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Establish and enforce data normalization strategies to prepare high-quality, normalized data specifically for analytical and Machine Learning applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and data science, to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions that support our ML roadmap.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance our data platform, with an eye towards improving data accessibility and utility for ML.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across all data processes.
  • Potentially lead a small team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Extensive experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on real-time data ingestion and processing.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing solutions for data change tracking and normalization.
  • Proficiency in working with various data sources, particularly from PIMS systems.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Neo4j).
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and especially Databricks).
  • Python experience is necessary, as it's a core language for our key ML and other core technologies, and essential for building ML data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning data pipelines and the specific requirements for preparing data for ML models.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing/data lakes concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in a lead data engineer role, including technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs/Stream Analytics) and pub/sub models.
  • Familiarity with AI coding assistants (as a general developer productivity tool).
  • Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Knowledge of distributed data processing frameworks.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • Flexible work arrangements (remote or hybrid).
