Accountabilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing across structured and unstructured data sources
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows to ensure efficient ingestion, transformation, and delivery to data warehouses, data lakes, or lakehouse environments
Collaborate with data architecture, analytics, ML engineering, and product teams to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions
Implement data quality checks, validation logic, and automated monitoring for accurate, complete, and reliable datasets
Utilize cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and distributed computing frameworks (Spark) to create high-performance data systems
Maintain metadata, data lineage, and documentation to support transparency, governance, and compliance
Optimize data storage, compute, and pipeline performance for efficiency and cost reduction
Apply security and access controls for sensitive data in accordance with policies and regulations
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes
Continuously evaluate new tools, technologies, and patterns to enhance data engineering capabilities
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or similar roles
5+ years of programming experience in Python for building and automating data pipelines and analytics data stores
Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Matillion, HVR, Fivetran, or Qlik Replicate
3+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, and schema design
Understanding of data governance, lineage, quality frameworks, and metadata management
Experience in production-ready AI data pipelines, including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data preparation
Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub), Agile tools (Jira, Confluence), and collaborative development workflows
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
