Job Description

IFS Ultimo, an IFS company headquartered in the Netherlands with more than 2400 global customers, is a leading Enterprise Asset Management software provider with a strong reputation for the completeness, flexibility, and configurability of its SaaS EAM solutions.

We’re building the next generation agentic AI framework — intelligent, agentic approach  that shifts industrial asset management from reactive maintenance to autonomous, proactive operations . Our platform will empower digital agents to onboard assets, manage maintenance, optimize stock, and support technicians — all through intelligent, context-aware interaction.

We are expanding our team and to make this vision a reality, we’re looking for a Data Engineer who will bring a wealth of experience in shaping the future of Ultimo.

We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer who’s passionate about high-quality data, real-world AI applications. This is your chance to shape how digital agents learn, reason, and act in industrial environments.

This job opening is in the Ultimo team of IFS

  • Design and Maintain Data Pipelines: To supply high-quality, reliable data for training and testing AI agents and build and manage data pipelines. This includes setting up infrastructure, integrating diverse data sources, and maintaining data integrity.
  • Data Preparation and Transformation: Clean, preprocess, and transform data to optimise embedding generations for semantic search.
  • AI Behaviour: Responsible for verifying AI agent behaviour in diverse conditions by simulating and analysing variations in data, user interactions, and orchestration flows
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with AI Experts and software Engineers to understand agent testing requirements and co-develop datasets that reflect real-world use cases and workflows.
  • Ability to break down a complex workflow into simple steps: Create example datasets that reflect different user actions and tasks so we can test how well the AI agents handle and make decisions in real-world scenarios.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles
  • Experience with vector databases and embeddings
  • Ability to write clean, testable, and scalable data code
  • Passion for learning machine learning and statistics
  • Team-oriented, communicative, and eager to work cross-functionally with software engineers, analysts, and AI/ML experts
  • Strong in SQL
  • Experience in programming in C# will be an added advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with the Agile/Scrum method of working
  • Experience with working in a multidisciplinary team
