Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in ETL processes to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure. In this role, you will transform raw data into actionable insights, ensuring secure, high-quality, and efficient data flows that power decision-making across the organization. This position requires a balance of technical excellence, problem-solving ability, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and maintain robust ETL pipelines to support analytics and operational workflows.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for large-scale, high-volume datasets.
  • Build and maintain API integrations to automate data retrieval from ERP, CRM, and third-party platforms.
  • Manage AWS-based data infrastructure (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, RDS, Lambda).
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, security, governance, and performance tuning.
  • Partner with BI teams, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve pipeline reliability, data quality, and system performance.
  • Ensure data backup processes support disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and query optimization for large datasets.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL frameworks and best practices in data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, RDS, Lambda).
  • Proficiency in working with APIs and modern programming languages for data integration.
  • Understanding of data architecture principles, including schema design, normalization, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

 

Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related technical role.
  • Proven track record of designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Telecommunications industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, PHP) to support ETL automation.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, observability tools, and integrity monitoring.
  • Exposure to a range of database systems, including relational databases and NoSQL.
  • Knowledge of Big Data, data warehousing concepts, and modern DBMS.
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.
  • Background in Telecom/Fiber industry or data integration related to M&A activity.
  • Exposure to AI/LLM technologies is a plus.

 

Compensation:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary Range for this position is $97,000 - $125,000. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
