Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our client in the technology and logistics platform industry, supporting US operations while working remotely in Malaysia. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the stability, compliance, and reliability of large-scale data platforms that serve international markets.

Due to the importance of user privacy and adherence to US and European compliance requirements, this position will collaborate closely with cross-regional engineering teams to provide production support and data operations excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and incident response for large-scale data platforms serving Europe and the US.
• Support, monitor, and troubleshoot data pipelines running on top of modern data platforms.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR.
• Handle ad hoc requests related to data operations and platform support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability and operational processes.

Requirements

• Eligibility to work in Malaysia.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience supporting Big Data operations in production environments.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Linux systems and command-line operations.
• Experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Strong command of English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
