Senior Data Engineer

Finubit is building the modern banking platform that empowers financial institutions to dramatically reduce time-to-market for new banking products.

The Data Platform team builds the infrastructure that powers data processing across Finubit's banking platform. We design and maintain the pipelines, streaming systems,

and data APIs that enable rapid development of new banking products. 

As a Senior Data Engineer You'll lead the design and implementation of Finubit's data platform, setting technical direction for how we process and deliver data at scale.

You'll mentor engineers, establish best practices, and drive architectural decisions that shape our data infrastructure. 

• Architect and lead implementation of scalable data pipelines and streaming systems. 
• Define technical standards and best practices for data engineering across the organization. 
• Drive performance optimization initiatives and cost-efficient infrastructure decisions. 
• Lead adoption of LLM-powered development across the team, mentor engineers on effective usage, and develop enabling infrastructure 
• Mentor engineers and conduct technical reviews. 
• Partner with leadership to translate business requirements into data architecture. 
• Establish data quality, testing, and monitoring standards. 
• Lead incident response and drive reliability improvements. 
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and patterns. 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Sciences, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience. 
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering. 
• Expert-level Python and strong SQL skills. 
• Deep experience with streaming systems (Kafka) and event-driven architectures. 
• Track record of designing and building scalable data pipelines. 
• Experience with distributed systems and understanding of trade-offs. 
• Demonstrated success integrating LLM-powered tools into data engineering workflows. 
• Strong AWS experience. 
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives. 
• Performance optimization leadership. 

Nice to have- 

• Experience architecting data platforms from scratch. 
• Deep expertise in performance optimization and cost management. 
• Experience with data mesh or domain-driven data architectures. 
• Track record of defining and implementing engineering standards. 
• Experience in fintech with understanding of compliance requirements (SOC 2, PCI-DSS). 
• Contributions to data engineering community (talks, writing, open source).
