The Senior Analytics & Reporting Engineer will be responsible for optimizing, scaling, and evolving our analytics and reporting infrastructure. This role combines deep expertise in data engineering, reporting optimization, and solution development. The ideal candidate will ensure our reporting systems are accurate, performant, and reliable, while also architecting the future of our analytics platform. Responsibilities include building and optimizing data lakes and warehouses, implementing standard star schemas, developing backend integrations, and creating scalable reporting abstractions. By partnering with Product, Engineering, and third-party vendors, this role ensures the business has a high-performing analytics ecosystem to power decision-making.

Responsibilities:
Audit, diagnose, and optimize existing reporting implementations to improve speed, consistency, and accuracy
Identify and correct slow-performing queries, data inconsistencies, and schema inefficiencies
Design, build, and maintain data lakes sourced from online transactional data
Transform data lakes into data warehouses using standard star schemas and best practices
Implement and optimize data warehouse solutions using technologies such as Amazon Redshift or Snowflake
Partner with Engineering teams to develop backend services for a new analytics solution, including third-party integrations
Partner with Engineering teams to design and implement an abstraction layer on top of the data warehouse to enable scalable, performant data access
Collaborate with Product and Business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights
Ensure data quality, governance, and scalability across all analytics systems

Leadership and Management:
Translate business intelligence needs into scalable data solutions
Act as a subject matter expert in data architecture, reporting performance, and modern analytics platforms.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to deliver high-quality, business-critical reporting
Advocate for performance, accuracy, and usability as core principles in all reporting and analytics efforts

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or reporting optimization roles
Proven expertise in building data lakes and transforming them into data warehouses using standard schemas
Hands-on experience with Redshift, Snowflake, or similar MPP data warehouse technologies
Excellent SQL optimization skills and experience correcting query performance bottlenecks
Experience developing backend integrations and scalable APIs highly desirable
Extra consideration given to folks who have experience with PHP and frameworks like Zend Framework, Laravel, or Symphony
Familiarity with GraphQL and implementing abstractions for data access
Experience working with transactional data in SaaS environments
Strong preference for experience integrating third-party analytics solutions
Demonstrated success in optimizing reporting platforms for accuracy, scalability, and performance

Compensation:
The typical starting salary range for this position is: $130,000-160,000
The actual salary offer will consider multiple factors, including skills, experience, education, and location. Please note that the salary reflects the base amount only and does not include total compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and benefits.
