We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in SQL, ETL processes, and insurance domain data. Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).

  • Use tools such as Postman to test and create APIs/interfaces.

  • Create detailed data mapping documentation in Excel for data migration and integration projects.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Handle insurance data transactions involving premiums, limits, deductibles, forms, subjectivities, and risk-level data.

  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Support system integration, migration, and transformation initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Developer, or in a similar technical role with strong ETL skills.

  • Hands-on experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.

  • Strong Excel skills for creating detailed data mapping and documentation.

  • Experience working in the insurance domain with policy datasets (property, casualty/general liability, package policies).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Background in software development.

  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and tools.

  • Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and data standards.

Requirements

  • This is a fairly technical role, so the ability to write SQL queries, use tools like Postman to test and create interfaces, and write up detailed data mapping requirements in Excel is important

  • This could even be someone with Development experience, or someone you've categorized as a Developer, but with strong ETL experience

  • Ideally, they will have worked in the insurance space creating data transactions, so they would be familiar with a policy data set: premium, limits, deductibles, forms, subjectivities, and risk-level data for property, casualty/general liability, and package policies
