Role and Responsibilities:
As a Data Engineer at Zigsaw, you will be responsible for:
- Working on customer engagements to solve big data problems, using Apache Spark and the Databricks platform
- Delivering data engineering and machine learning solutions
- Performing system integrations and providing training to customers
- Ensuring performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging of Spark and/or other big data solutions
- Programming in Python, Scala, or Java
- Utilizing cloud infrastructure and services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Presenting to strategic stakeholders and leadership, demonstrating excellent communication skills
- Architecting end-to-end solutions by mapping customer business problems
Candidate Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- 2+ years of hands-on technical experience with Apache Spark
- 2+ years of design and implementation experience in big data technologies
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to strategic stakeholders and leadership
- A passion for learning new technologies and a commitment to customer success
- Previous experience in customer-facing technical architecture or consulting roles would be preferred
